In Water: Three characters, one miracle

Each bath draws from its own unique water source, creating three distinct experiences that showcase Iceland's geological diversity. Each bath draws from its own unique water source, creating three distinct experiences that showcase Iceland's geological diversity. These aren't just heated pools - they're three unique characters waiting to be discovered in the country’s dramatic north, united by one miracle of creation by the earth’s hidden forces.

The Forest Lagoon: Where discovery creates magic

Sprint from the changing rooms through crisp air that should freeze your breath and step into liquid serendipity. Born from an accident - discovered during tunnel construction in Vaðlaskógur forest - The Forest Lagoon proves that Iceland's best improbabilities happen by chance.

Here, just five minutes from Akureyri, you'll find naturally alkaline water that bubbles up from deep underground springs. This water has traveled through layers of volcanic rock, emerging with a unique mineral composition that creates an almost silky feel against your skin. The alkaline nature makes it particularly gentle and restorative.

In winter's 19-hour darkness, this sustainably-built sanctuary beckons travellers among sleeping trees. In summer's endless daylight, you'll bathe in water that defies both Arctic climate and expectation, while the forest around you basks in midnight sun.

Mývatn Nature Baths: Where natural purity heals

Mývatn Nature Baths present a profound geological contradiction: mineral-rich water drawn from 2,500 meters deep, the deepest of all three baths. Surrounded by landscapes that look like they belong on Mars, this ancient water has been filtered through volcanic rock for millennia, emerging so naturally pure it needs no chemical treatment. Rich in silica and sulfur compounds, it creates a distinctly different bathing experience - the water feels almost medicinal, with natural healing properties that have been recognized for centuries. And now can be enjoyed by you.

Here, you float in naturally heated pools with views of lava fields, watching the endless sky as your warm breath meets the chilly air. This is where you truly understand Iceland's unique combination of strangeness and wonder. Where you soak peacefully in liquid perfection drawn from the earth's deepest chambers while surrounded by terrain that chronicles the island’s violent volcanic past.

GeoSea Baths: Where land meets sea

Perched on Húsavík's dramatic cliffs overlooking Skjálfandi Bay, GeoSea offers Iceland's most breathtaking contradiction - seawater warmed by volcanic forces into Nordic bliss.

This heated mineral-rich seawater is drawn from nearby geothermal drill holes, creating the most unique water character of all three baths. It contains a completely different mineral profile - rich in magnesium, potassium, and trace elements from the ocean. The water is so mineral-dense, it's too potent for household heating, but perfect for healing human skin and joints.

Steam rises from pools that face the Arctic Circle, connecting you with Iceland's centuries-old bathing tradition. Elements that shouldn't coexist create magic and healing for both body and soul. The constant soundtrack of wind and waves becomes natural meditation as you float suspended between sea and sky.
